Celebrate the final day of summer (before Fall Equinox on Thursday) at this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market, on Wednesday, September 21, with a great selection of farm-fresh, late summer fruits and veggies from local vendors and producers from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park. Michigan grapes are in season, as are fall apples and pears. Peaches, nectarines, plums and late season blueberries and raspberries, plus jams and honey, are also available from our produce vendors.
Shop for flavorful heirloom tomatoes, squash, eggplant, colorful peppers, beets, cauliflower, radish, turnips, kohlrabi, lettuce, beans, greens, carrots, onions, herbs and other favorites. Sweet corn season is ending soon, so be sure to stock up this week.
Plan your weekly menu and school lunches when shopping the Market while supporting local farmers and small community businesses. Select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, jams and jellies, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, and snack items. Pick up fresh sunflower and other cut flower bouquets and beautiful plants for your home and garden, and shop for natural skincare items as well. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home.
Be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Market Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win Farmers Market vendor and Highland Park business gift cards or other merchandise.
Weekly live music is sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation. “Jazzman” Jeff Justman performs acoustic Beatle Jazz”, 60s Music, Torch Songs, and Originals from 8:45-10:45am. The Desert Birds Trio returns to the Market with “gypsy swing” tunes from 11am-1pm.
The Ravinia Market runs through the end of October, so mark your calendars to not to miss this weekly Highland Park community event. Special thank you to our Market Gold Sponsors Carolyn Cerf Coldwell Banker Realty and Keyth Security. Additional gratitude to our other sponsors and Friends of Ravinia Farmers Market.
