Summer’s bounty continues at the Ravinia Farmers Market this Wednesday, August 10, from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park with fresh, local and organic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, artisanal food items, plants and flowers and other Market items, as well as community tents and live music.
Plan your seasonal weekly menu to include all the magic, flavors and nutrition of midsummer fruits and veggies. Select from local, organic and Michigan-grown tomatoes, green beans, sweet corn, zucchini and summer squash, kohlrabi, beets, scallions and onions, kale and chard, lettuce and salad greens, sweet and hot peppers, potatoes, fresh herbs and many other veggie favorites. Michigan fruit selections will include many varieties of peaches, plums, and berries, plus cherries and other specialty fruits.
Continue to shop for your weekly menu, and select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, jams and jellies, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, healthy beverages and snack items. Pick up fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden, and shop for natural skincare items as well. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home.
Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. This week’s Ravinia prize winners will receive two passes to upcoming performances, as well as a Ravinia goodie bag. Additional prizes include gift cards from a Highland Park business.
