Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of October 12
Autumn is in the air this week as the Ravinia Farmers Market continues every Wednesday from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park, through October 26. Stop by the Market this Wednesday morning for a great selection of fall fruits and veggies from local vendors, producers and small businesses. Michigan in-season fruits include a variety of sweet and tart fall apples and pears, and a limited selection of plums and late season fruits, plus a variety of local honey options, are also available from our produce vendors. You’ll also still find heirloom tomatoes, as well as colorful winter squash, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, beets, cauliflower, radish, turnips, kohlrabi, lettuce, greens, carrots, onions, herbs and other favorites. Pumpkins and decorative gourds are also available. Plan your weekly menu and school lunches when shopping the Market while supporting local farmers and small community businesses. Select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, jams and jellies, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, and snack items. Pick up cut flower bouquets and herb plants for your home and fall garden. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home. Weekly live music is sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation. “Jazzman” Jeff Justman performs acoustic Beatle Jazz”, 60s Music, Torch Songs, and Originals from 8:45-10:45am. Jared Rabin returns to the Market with folk and acoustic classics from 11am-1pm. The Ravinia Market runs through the end of October, so mark your calendars to not to miss this weekly Highland Park community event.
