Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of June 15, 2022
The June harvest is abundant at this week’s Ravinia Farmers’ Market, Wednesday, June 22 from 7am-1pm at Jens Jensen Park, in the Ravinia Business District. Plan all of your weekly menu shopping around all that’s in season this week, including the first Michigan cherries and the final weeks of Michigan strawberries, rhubarb and asparagus (Market Manager’s tip: buy extra to enjoy now and freeze for smoothies and recipes). Also in season this week: local and organic kale, chard, mixed greens, lettuce, salad radishes and turnips, snap peas, parsley, basil, cilantro and other flavorful herbs and veggies. Join more than 35 weekly local produce, food, artisan product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting at Jens Jensen Park. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, artisan oils and flours, skin care products and soaps, as well as fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. Presence Marketing Farmers Market Taste-A-Thon
Presence Marketing represents a large variety of natural/organic food manufacturers and has graciously decided to sponsor the Farmers Market Taste-A-Thon. Over two dozen different products will be given away freely each week at our Market Information Tent. Opening on August 15, 1904, Ravinia remains the oldest and most programmatically diverse music festival in North America, attracting about 600,000 guests to over 120 events each year. During the Ravinia Farmers Market season each week there will be 5 Free Drawings: Winners will be contacted and arrange for a pickup of the prize at the market the following week. 1st Prize Winner – will receive either 2 pavilion or 2 lawn seats for a designated Ravinia concert. 2nd Prize Winner – will receive a Local Merchants donated prize or Farmers Market Vendors will also contribute their products as prizes. 3rd, 4th, and 5th Prize Winners – will receive a stuffed bag of organic/natural food products, VIP coupons and information.
