Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of August 17

Farm-fresh tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, eggplants, green beans, beets, greens, Michigan fruits and berries and more abound at this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market, happening August 17 from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park. Look for fresh, local and organic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, artisanal food items, plants and flowers and other Market items, as well as community tents and live music. Plan your seasonal weekly menu to include all the flavors and nutrition of midsummer fruits and veggies while supporting local farmers and small community businesses. Shop for family favorites, and try some new varieties as well. Also select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, jams and jellies, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, healthy beverages and snack items. Pick up some fresh, cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden, and shop for natural skincare items as well. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home. Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival.
