June 28 Market News
Summer is in full swing at this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market, happening Wednesday, June 28, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jens Jensen Park, across from the Metra Station. Join more than 35 local farmers and producers for early summer specialties including Michigan strawberries, cherries, raspberries and blueberries. Select from local and organic produce, featuring a variety of lettuce, kale, chard, arugula and other greens, carrots and early beets, peas, asparagus and other seasonal crops. Plan your week’s menu around our local produce, as well as artisanal cheese, tahini and humus, honey, condiments and pickles, breads and pastries, honey, desserts and other items. And be sure to pick some natural skincare products, healthy beverages and pet treats as well, and grab some crepes and popcorn to go! Also shop for custom-tailored women’s skorts and dresses, home decor items and a great selection of organically-grown vegetable starter plants, pollinator plants, annuals, houseplants and beautiful cut flowers and arrangements. As always, market goers will enjoy live music throughout the market, starting with acoustic music “Jazzman” Jeff Justman from 9-10:30 a.m. This week’s Ravinia Farmers Market Live Music Series features the honkeytonk sounds of Diamonback Duo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thank you to Highland Park Community Foundation for their generous support of the Live Music Series at Ravinia Farmers Market. Special thanks to Life Rhythms, Inc. for booking performers for the Live Music Series at Ravinia Farmers Market. The Ravinia Market runs through the end of October, so mark your calendars to not to miss this weekly Highland Park community event.
