Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of June 12, 2024
Enjoy the bounty of early-summer produce and foods at this week’s Ravinia Farmers’ Market, Wednesday, June 15 from 7am-1pm at Jens Jensen Park, in the Ravinia Business District. Plan all your weekly menu shopping around all that’s in season this week, including deliciously sweet Michigan strawberries and crisp rhubarb, perfect for baking a pie or savory side dish. This week’s Market will feature an early June bounty of freshly harvested greens like local and organic kale, lettuce, baby collards and chard, plus radish and other early crops as available. Select from a variety of flavorful fresh herbs, beautiful fresh flowers and the final weeks of asparagus season. With more than 25 vendors each week, RFM is the community go-to for local produce, artisan foods, vegetable and flower plants, teas and coffees, bakery and dessert items, natural products and more, all set in relaxing Jens Jensen Park. Shop for a diverse range of products including farm-fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, honey, vegan and gluten-free options, fresh cut flowers, and hand-crafted pottery. We welcome Market-goers to pick up a delicious breakfast or lunch from several onsite food vendors and relax to RFM’s weekly live music performances, sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation and Life Rhythms, Inc. Artist in Market Residency Pierce Crask will perform Americana and Blues from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by the Gypsy Jazz sounds of The Desert Birds from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Make sure to visit the Welcome Tent to participate in the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience.
