Celebrate the start of summer at the Ravinia Farmers’ Market on Wednesday, June 19, from 7 am to 1 pm at Jens Jensen Park, in the heart of the Ravinia Business District. This week promises an exceptional array of fresh, seasonal produce and artisan goods, perfect for enriching your weekly menu, pantry and home. Take advantage of the early produce season with the first harvests of Michigan cherries and the final weeks of Michigan strawberries and asparagus. Our Market Manager recommends stocking up to savor now and also freeze for smoothies, desserts and future dinners. This week’s market also features a vibrant selection of local and organic vegetables including kale, chard, mixed greens, lettuce, salad radishes, turnips, snap peas, root veggies, early cucumber sand a variety of fresh herbs. Join over 25 vendors, showcasing local produce, food products, artisan creations, body care products and natural goods. Enhance your meals with farm-fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, and an assortment of pastries and baked goods, including vegan and gluten-free options. Pick up some fresh-cut flowers and organically grown plants for beautifying your home and garden. We welcome Market-goers to choose a delicious breakfast or lunch from several onsite food vendors and relax to RFM’s weekly live music performances, sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation and Life Rhythms, Inc. Artist in Market Residency Pierce Crask will perform Americana and Blues from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by the Gypsy Jazz sounds of The Bowmanville Trio from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Make sure to visit the Welcome Tent to participate in the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience.
