Summer fruits and vegetables are in abundance at this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market, with Michigan favorites like peaches, plums, and berries available from several vendors. Midwest sweetcorn will also likely be at this week’s market, along with heirloom tomatoes, summer squashes, cucumbers, green beans, kohlrabi, pepper varieties, fresh herbs and other summer veggies. The Market is open this Wednesday, August 3, from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park with fresh, local and organic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, artisanal food items, plants and flowers and other Market items, as well as community tents and live music.
Be sure to plan your weekly menu with what’s in season at the Market. Join more than 30 weekly local produce, food, artisanal product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting near the Ravinia Metra station. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, jams and jellies, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, healthy beverages, artisan oils and flours, skin care products and soaps, as well as fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home.
Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival.
