Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of July 20, 2022

Peaches and plums are now in season, along with sweet and tart cherries, apricots, raspberries, late season blueberries and other delicious Michigan fruits. The Market is open this Wednesday, July 20, from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park with fresh, local and organic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, artisanal food items, plants and flowers and other Market items, as well as community tents and live music.

A minute of silence will again be observed at the Market at noon to honor the victims of the July 4 tragedy and our community. Additional community support/outreach is planned for this week’s Market.

Plan your weekly menu with what’s in season at the Market, including green beans, cucumbers and zucchini/summer squash, early tomatoes, kohlrabi, broccoli and more, plus local and organic kale and chard selections, mixed greens, lettuces, garlic scapes, salad turnips, snap peas, parsley, flavorful basil, and other herbs, fruits and veggies.

Join nearly 40 weekly local produce, food, artisanal product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting at Jens Jensen Park. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, healthy beverages, artisan oils and flours, skin care products and soaps, as well as fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden. Several vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home. This week we welcome new vendor Blossom, a Chicago-based mental wellness company offering “meditation in a mug” barista-style latte mixes with clinically-effective superfoods to support energy, focus, and stress. .

Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. This week’s first prize winner will receive two lawn passes to the July 21 Henhouse Prowlers performance on the Carousel Stage , as well as a Ravinia goodie bag!
