Ravinia Farmers Market Update – week of June 22, 2022

The June harvest is abundant at this week’s Ravinia Farmers’ Market, Wednesday, June 22 from 7am-1pm at Jens Jensen Park, in the Ravinia Business District. Plan all of your weekly menu shopping around all that’s in season this week, including the first Michigan cherries and the final weeks of Michigan strawberries, rhubarb and asparagus (Market Manager’s tip: buy extra to enjoy now and freeze for smoothies and recipes).

Also in season this week: local and organic kale, chard, mixed greens, lettuce, salad radishes and turnips, snap peas, parsley, basil, cilantro and other flavorful herbs and veggies.

Join more than 35 weekly local produce, food, artisan product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting at Jens Jensen Park. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, pastries and baked goods, vegan and gluten-free selections, condiments, spices and chocolates, artisan oils and flours, skin care products and soaps, as well as fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden

Running through the September 14 market, be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. This week’s first prize winner will receive lawn passes to the July 6 concert “The Goonies: In Concert”, as well as a Ravinia goodie bag! Additional prizes include a gift card to Backyard Grill.

This weeks’ live music is sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation. “Jazzman” Jeff Justman performs acoustic Beatle Jazz”, 60s Music, Torch Songs, and Originals from 8:45-10:45am, followed by Derek Deluba’s Jazz Experience, from 11am-1pm.
