September is just getting started, and this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market will be filled with the flavors of the season. Tomato season continues, and late summer colors and flavors are in high gear with local produce and Michigan fruit in abundance at this week’s Ravinia Farmers Market. Highlights of this week’s Market will include local and organic heirloom tomatoes in abundance, sweet corn, squashes, sweet and spicy peppers and a fabulous fruit selection.

Shopping the Market is a great way to plan your weekly menu with what’s locally in season in the Midwest, so be sure to stop by Jens Jensen Park on Wednesday, September 6 from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) for a great selection of farm-fresh and locally-made artisan products and market specialties. Market vendors continue to feature Michigan summer fruits, including pie-ready juicy peaches, pears, sweet grapes, plums, giant blackberries, and additional fruit selections as harvest is available.

Join more than 20 weekly local produce, food, artisanal product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting at Jens Jensen Park. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, pastries and baked goods, condiments, specialty herbs and teas, beverages, artisan food products, skin care essentials and soaps, tailored women’s clothing, and fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden. Vendors also offer freshly made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home.

Be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the final week of the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. This week’s first prize winners will receive two passes to the September 8 performance of Childs/Reid/Wilson Combo with Kurt Elling.
